GUATEMALA SHOE DRIVE CONTINUES!! The amount of shoes under our little tree is so overwelming…I do not know what to say! THANK-YOU does not even begin to cover it, but I am afraid that is all I can think of. I am looking forward to spending some time tomorrow sorting and inventorying this first round of donations.

The shoe drive will continuue to run through March 14th. There is an Epiphany Tree in the Narthex with tags indicating styles and sizes of shoes. Donations of new to gently used shoes may be brought to church and deposited under the tree. Monetary donations for the purchase of shoes are also welcomed. These donations will help make healthier lives for those in need in Guatemala. For more information you may contact the church office.

One of the biggest needs in Guatemala is shoes.  Shoe selection and quantity are limited, and they are very expensive to purchase in Guatemala. Most children and adults are forced to wear the same pair of shoes for several years, regardless of size, while others never own a single pair.  Most are forced to cut the end of the shoes off to make room for growth. Sharron Leinweber, a returning member of the Guatemala Mission Team, is joining forces with St. John’s Youth Group for a shoe drive that will begin January 10.  There is an Epiphany Tree in the Narthex with tags indicating styles and sizes of shoes.
