As part of its fund raising efforts the 2010 Guatemala Mission Team will be hosting "A Guatemala Experience" on June 6. The event, which will begin at noon in the Marsh Hall (Great Hall), is top secret, but will bring awareness and clarity about the needs of many living in Guatemala, where over half of the population lives in poverty. A traditional Guatemalan dinner will be served. Donations from the event will help fund a mission trip the team will be taking at the end of June. During the trip the team members will distribute wheelchairs, build a house, visit an orphanage for the physically and mentally challenaged, and distribute food and clothing. Tickets are a suggested donation of $20 per person / $50 per family of four and are available in the church narthex on Sundays May 2-30 or by contacting the church office. This event is open to the public.
