Our third mission trip to Guatemala is scheduled for June 24 - July 2, 2011.  We have a total of 11 participants including 4 youth.  This year the team leaders are Ted Christensen ('09 & '10) and Nancy Laswell ('10).  The team will camping together the first weekend in March for an intensive team training.  The members will discuss cross-cultural awareness, building cross-cultural relationships and the keys to being the hands and feet of Jesus.

The members of the 2011 team have been working hard fund-raising for the trip.  In November of 2010 they participated in the Kirkland Interfaith Network Alternative Gift Fair where they "sold" water filters and wheelchairs that will be distributed during the mission trip.  They also sold portions of housebuilds they will work on with Bethel Ministries. They are currently selling coffee, tea and chocolate during the coffee hours every Sunday, sold concessions at the preschool Recess Monkeys concert in January, and will be submitting a basket of Equal Exchange coffee and chocolates at the preschool Carnival on March 12 at St. John's.
