90th Anniversary Celebration
In January of 1922 a small group gathered together in Kirkland to talk about an Episcopal mission. On January 1, 1923 another small group sent a letter to the Bishop asking for the permission to begin a mission. A consent was given on February 1, 1923, and the very first vestry met on February 2. The rest, as they say, is history. St. John’s 90th anniversary is only months away. What we need now is a 90th Anniversary committee that can mobilize the various ministries of St. John’s so they have time to help plan and implement their portion of the celebration. In researching church anniversaries, it is common to go beyond a simple one time event, but rather celebrate the entire year. If you would like to be involved contact the office at St. John’s Kirkland.
The Order of St. Luke is for those interested in the ministry of healing
OSL is an inter-denominational Christian healing ministry organization. Members meet together in local chapters organized within regions to study the Bible and other books on Christian healing. Members engage in healing prayer, often with laying-on of hands, and promote healing through annual healing missions, conferences or events.

The objectives are to bring about an increased understanding of spiritual healing and wholeness as an essential part of the teaching and practice of Jesus Christ as set forth in the New Testament, and to encourage Christians to understand that all believers have an active part in Jesus' healing ministry.

HOW TO BECOME INVOLVED: The Kirkland chapter meets in the sanctuary at 7:00 pm on the second Thursday of each month. Everyone is welcome to attend. The meetings are an opportunity for us to be closer to our Lord. During our meetings, we start with prayer, listen to people share what God has done in their lives, praise and worship, study with a speaker, and pray for healing. We pray for physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, financial healing; any healing that the Holy Spirit leads us to pray for.

The emblem of the order, as shown above, is a cross within a circle, which together make an acrostic. The motto is in Latin:
JESU ESTO MIHI JESUS - DUX - LUX - REX - LEX roughly translated, this means: Jesus, be to me my Savior (Healer), Leader, Light, King, and Law. The emblem is blue to signify healing.

Information on becoming a member is available at www.orderofstluke.org.

As time permits these items will link to additional information about each area.
